Anchoring satellite panels Lofar
lofarLofar is an unique ICT-project that started with the ambition of Dutch astronomers to perceive the very first start of our universe. A radio telescope is needed which is 100 times more sensitive than the current radio telescope. Lofar develops this radio telescope as a network of ten thousand sensors. These little antennas are being distributed over an area with a diameter of 350 kilometer and linked to a supercomputer through an extended fiberglass network.

Duckbill ®earth anchors are used to anchor these satellite panels.

Widening the Twente Canal between Goor and Delden
twentekanaal-mantarayThe Twente Canal between Goor and Delden is being widened to make it accessible for larger vessels. The broadening and deepening of this fairway, is part of the project "Widening of the Twente Canal". Between the Hengelerbridge in Goor and the sluice in Delden, the fairway is now broadened from 40 meters to 50 meters. The middle of the fairway is now deepened to a minimum of 4 meter.

In 2007 activities have been accomplished to this fairway. Because of this, nowadays, vessels with class Va can sail this route with a maximum loading capacity of 2.000 tonne. Before, only vessels with class IV could use this fairway.

Manta Ray ® earth anchors were used to anchor the seawall.

Aanleg gasleidingen in Noord-Nederland
gasleiding The Dutch Gasunie has decided to use Manta Ray®earth anchors for the fixation of the new gas pipeline (48 inch) in the Netherlands. Gasunie is extending her transport network thoroughly (North - South Route). In addition to the existing pipelines, new pipelines with a diameter of 48 inches will be placed in the North of Netherland.
The pipelines, with a total length of 150 km, will run from:
  • Borgsweer (close to Delfzijl) to Scheemda
  • Oude Statenzijn to Midwolda
  • Midwolda to Tripscompagnie
  • Scheemda via Meeden to Ommen

Early 2009, preparation for the activities for the construction begun and will become visible in this area. The construction site is installed, a dirt road for transport is set up, archaeological research is done, pipelines are delivered and excavations are done. After completion of the work, the ground will be placed back and restored in the old state. At the end of 2010, the project will be finished.

North-South Route
The pipeline construction is part of a major project of Gasunie, the North - South Route. In this North - South Route, miles of additional natural gas pipelines will be constructed throughout the Netherlands and two new compressor stations building will be built. The realization of this project is taking care for additional employment. The expansion of this network is necessary because in the future more gas from abroad will be imported. The extraction of natural gas in the Netherlands and Europe is decreasing, while demand for natural gas as the cleanest fossil fuel is still increasing. With the construction, the Netherlands is reinforcing his unique position as ‘gasrotonde' in the European energy market. End users in the Netherlands and abroad continues to be ensured of a safe and constant supply of natural gas.

Replacement couple bars Pro Rail
prorailFor the replacement of the couple bars, situated between the foundations of the masts, Pro Rail decided to use Manta Ray earth anchors.
